For example, a company may manufacture and <strong>sell revision A<\/strong> of a part, then switch to <strong>revision B after modification<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>The 3DEXPERIENCE platform makes revision management simple and efficient.<\/p>\n<div class=\"hs-callout-type-warning\" data-hs-callout-type=\"warning\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Please note: Revisions should only be used to <strong>track the history of<\/strong> the design. When working, you should always <strong>use the latest revision<\/strong>. If you want to explore different design ideas, you should use <strong>revision branches<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<div class=\"hs-callout-type-tip\" data-hs-callout-type=\"tip\">\n<p>Before you start revising, please familiarize yourself with <a href=\"https:\/\/hub.xdinnovation.eu\/knowledge\/le-concept-de-maturit%C3%A9\" rel=\"noopener\">the concept of maturities<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Creating revisions in SOLIDWORKS<\/h3>\n<div class=\"hs-embed-wrapper hs-fullwidth-embed\" data-service=\"youtube\" data-responsive=\"true\">\n<div class=\"hs-embed-content-wrapper\">\n<div><iframe height=\"144.64\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IKFduXujivE?list=PLG_cYn2MLrdT0KJqI-vW3hYm8nkw_fbpd\" width=\"256\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">1. Save to 3DEXPERIENCE<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Windows is not equipped with tools for editing CAD files, so these are only available when<a href=\"https:\/\/hub.xdinnovation.eu\/knowledge\/bases-de-sauvegarde-avec-solidworks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">saving to 3DEXPERIENCE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">2. Change maturity status<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Go to the SOLIDWORKS<strong>&#8220;3DEXPERIENCE<\/strong>&#8221; tab, select the components of your choice and click on the maturity function to modify it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"SW maturity\" class=\"hs-image-align-none\" height=\"369\" style=\"height: auto; width: 688px;\" src=\"https:\/\/8764694.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net\/hubfs\/8764694\/Maturit%C3%A9%20SW.gif\" width=\"688\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Change to<strong>&#8220;Frozen<\/strong>&#8221; if you want to create a revision, but it has not yet been published.<\/p>\n<p>Change to<strong>&#8220;Distributed<\/strong>&#8221; if your file will be manufactured and converted (STEP, PDF&#8230;).<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">3. Modify design in SOLIDWORKS<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You can immediately start making changes in SOLIDWORKS.<\/p>\n<p>When saving, as components are<strong>&#8220;Frozen<\/strong>&#8220;<strong> <\/strong>or<strong>&#8220;Distributed&#8221;<\/strong>, SOLIDWORKS will block the save operation, unless you create a new revision on the modified files.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"hs-image-align-none\" style=\"height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/8764694.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net\/hubfs\/8764694\/image-png-Sep-28-2023-01-38-31-4996-PM.png\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p>Click the<strong>&#8220;New revision<\/strong>&#8221; checkbox on modified components.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"hs-image-align-none\" style=\"height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/8764694.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net\/hubfs\/8764694\/image-png-Sep-28-2023-01-40-44-9331-PM.png\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"hs-callout-type-tip\" data-hs-callout-type=\"tip\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tip: you don&#8217;t need to create a new revision of ALL components, just revise the ones that have been modified. The others will be reused. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>4.
