File coding with 3DEXPERIENCE"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Introduction<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Coding can be useful for both small and large companies, and is usually done with the attribute called &#8220;Enterprise Element Number&#8221; (EIN) in 3DEXPERIENCE.<\/p>\n<div class=\"hs-callout-type-note\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-hs-callout-type=\"note\">\n<p>Definition: the EIN is a <strong>unique identification code<\/strong> assigned to an item within a company. Instead, the part code appears in the drawing title block. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Step 1: display the EIN&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By default, the EIN is not displayed on either SOLIDWORKS or the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. This first step consists in activating its display. <\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">1. On SOLIDWORKS<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Open SOLIDWORKS. In the task pane, click on<strong>&#8220;Customize view<\/strong>&#8220;. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"1-Jan-22-2024-03-03-14-5732-PM\" class=\"hs-image-align-center\" height=\"70\" style=\"height: auto; width: 462px;\" src=\"https:\/\/8764694.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net\/hubfs\/8764694\/1-Jan-22-2024-03-03-14-5732-PM.jpg\" width=\"462\" loading=\"lazy\">Select the EIN. An EIN column will appear. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"2-4\" class=\"hs-image-align-center\" height=\"337\" style=\"height: auto; width: 338px;\" src=\"https:\/\/8764694.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net\/hubfs\/8764694\/2-4.jpg\" width=\"338\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"hs-callout-type-note\" data-hs-callout-type=\"note\">\n<p>Note: the EIN column is currently empty. It will be customized in the following steps. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">2. On 3DEXPERIENCE<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Go to the platform, <a href=\"https:\/\/hub.xdinnovation.eu\/knowledge\/bases-de-sauvegarde-avec-solidworks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bookmark Editor<\/a> application and open the tree view options.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"3-Jan-22-2024-03-14-15-6586-PM\" class=\"hs-image-align-center\" height=\"193\" style=\"height: auto; width: 623px;\" src=\"https:\/\/8764694.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net\/hubfs\/8764694\/3-Jan-22-2024-03-14-15-6586-PM.jpg\" width=\"623\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Click on parameters, and select the EIN in the attribute search.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"4-4\" class=\"hs-image-align-center\" height=\"113\" style=\"height: auto; width: 594px;\" src=\"https:\/\/8764694.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net\/hubfs\/8764694\/4-4.jpg\" width=\"594\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"5-Jan-22-2024-03-18-47-0844-PM\" class=\"hs-image-align-center\" height=\"323\" style=\"height: auto; width: 577px;\" src=\"https:\/\/8764694.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net\/hubfs\/8764694\/5-Jan-22-2024-03-18-47-0844-PM.jpg\" width=\"577\" loading=\"lazy\">In the same way as in SOLIDWORKS, you&#8217;ll see an empty EIN column appear in your Bookmarks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Step 2: EIN settings<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now that the columns are displayed and ready to be completed, you can customize the content of your EIN.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As usual, let&#8217;s go to<a href=\"https:\/\/eu1-ifwe.3dexperience.3ds.com\/#dashboard:e88a79f9-b86c-449d-b438-dca5445d4a9b\/tabId:9-br5CGA22WwUBnm1G88\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Platform Management<\/a>&#8221; and go to<strong>&#8220;Engineering Definition<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"6-Jan-22-2024-03-45-09-6666-PM\" class=\"hs-image-align-none\" height=\"286\" style=\"height: auto; width: 688px;\" src=\"https:\/\/8764694.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net\/hubfs\/8764694\/6-Jan-22-2024-03-45-09-6666-PM.jpg\" width=\"688\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">1. Uniqueness of the EIN<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We recommend setting parameters so that 2 identical codes are not possible. We want each code to be <strong>unique<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To do this, select<strong>&#8220;Admin configuration<\/strong>&#8221; and check that the<strong>&#8220;Enable uniqueness<\/strong>&#8221; box is ticked.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"7-4\" class=\"hs-image-align-center\" height=\"88\" style=\"height: auto; width: 526px;\" src=\"https:\/\/8764694.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net\/hubfs\/8764694\/7-4.jpg\" width=\"526\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"hs-callout-type-note\" data-hs-callout-type=\"note\">\n<p>Note: with this option, the system automatically checks that the EIN code for each component is unique.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">2. Customize your EIN<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>a. Manual input<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By default, the EIN is just a text field you can fill in.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If your company needs flexibility in its coding, this may suffice. However, we recommend setting up a <em>formula<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>b. Formula<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you want code to call up several properties from your file (i.e. concatenate properties), you need to define a formula for your EIN.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now go to<strong>&#8220;Formula configuration<\/strong>&#8220;. This is where you choose what your EIN will be made of. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"8-1\" class=\"hs-image-align-none\" height=\"331\" style=\"height: auto; width: 664px;\" src=\"https:\/\/8764694.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net\/hubfs\/8764694\/8-1.jpg\" width=\"664\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The<strong>&#8220;formula<\/strong>&#8221; gives an idea of what your EIN will look like.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You can add different fields by clicking on<strong>&#8220;+<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"9-2\" class=\"hs-image-align-center\" height=\"289\" style=\"height: auto; width: 377px;\" src=\"https:\/\/8764694.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net\/hubfs\/8764694\/9-2.jpg\" width=\"377\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"hs-callout-type-caution\" data-hs-callout-type=\"caution\">\n<ul>\n<li>Prerequisite: if you wish to use SOLIDWORKS or 3DEXPERIENCE properties in your EIN, you must have <a href=\"https:\/\/hub.xdinnovation.eu\/knowledge\/cartouche-de-plans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">declared and mapped them beforehand<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">EIN example:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If we want an EIN for a file whose case number is XDI24 and its family is Hardware (QC), here is the formula to declare:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Case number &#8211; Family &#8211; Counter<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Either : <strong>XDI24-QC-0015<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Step 3: Assign the EIN to your files<\/h3>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">1. In SOLIDWORKS<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the 3DEXPERIENCE tab on the right of the screen, called MySession, select the components to be coded:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"hs-image-align-center\" height=\"1128\" style=\"height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/8764694.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net\/hubfs\/8764694\/image-png-May-03-2024-09-38-14-1164-AM.png\" width=\"1208\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">2.
