Originally, in 2020, the company was called Nextcube.IO. It was created by P Pierre Marc (CEO XDI) and Sébastien, two "veterans" of 3D CAD.
Sébastien, founded the company with Lenny, his brother (also a shareholder of XDI) AvenAo(SOLIDWORKS Integrator) in 2002. Sébastien and Lenny sold AvenAo to the Prodways Group four years ago. Passionate about engineering (Sébastien holds a DEA in mechanical engineering and simulation from the École Normale Supérieure, and Lenny holds an engineering degree from ESILV), new business models and entrepreneurship, Sébastien and Lenny proposed to Prodways to join forces to create the "next-generation" 3D software integrator. It will be
XD Innovation. Following a model similar to Orange’s with Sosh or Volkswagen’s with Porsche, the Prodways Group will have two brands to bring together the best design and innovation tools: AvenAo and Ohmycad. Each brand has its own DNA, its own unique characteristics, and its own "persona." Ohmycad’s DNA will consist of the cloud, SaaS, new use cases, and services for Industrial startups, innovation… The idea is to start from scratch, reinvent things, and (re)ask ourselves the questions. And that's great!
Pierre Marc, an INSA graduate, was one of Sébastien and Lenny’s earliest colleagues at AvenAo. He joined AvenAo as an intern over 10 years ago and has never left:). Product engineer, sales rep, branch manager, director, COO, he’s held every role at AvenAo before taking on the ultimate challenge: becoming the CEO of a startup! Bam! Pierre Marc is passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation. He’s the one who oversees Ohmycad’s day-to-day operations, strategy, clients, and finances. He’s the big boss 🙂
So, as we told you, at first we were called Nextcube.IO. But why change the name after 15 days? Well, because Pierre Marc and Sébastien met a super entrepreneur, Soufiane, based in the US, in Denver, and who, since 2017, has launched XD INNOVATION US. This company was the first to "jump on board" with the integration of the 3DEXPERIENCE, particularly around technologies CATIA. For example, XD Innovation US works with the world’s largest 3DEXPERIENCE Full Cloud customer: Canoo. XD Innovation US is made up of about 30 engineers who are among the world’s leading specialists in 3DEXPERIENCE integration. XD Innovation has received numerous Dassault Systèmes Prize(Best U.S. Integrator, Platinum Partner …)
During a round trip to the U.S., Soufiane, Pierre Marc, and Sébastien met at Prodways" offices in Boston and decided to join forces to create a global leader in the integration of new "Full Cloud” 3DEXPERIENCE solutions: CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, DELAMIA … Nextcube.IO will now be known as Ohmycad. The idea is to combine our strengths, skills, and energy to give the startup a boost.
Up to that point, everything was going well… all of this was a few days before the pandemic and the lockdown… Ohmycad still hadn’t launched its business and hadn’t hired its first employees…
