SOLIDWORKS 2026 Pricing: Purchase, Annual Subscription, or Quarterly Subscription?

Since the update to Dassault Systèmes' sales policy on July 1, 2023, three ways to purchase SOLIDWORKS are available. Each one meets different needs depending on your cash flow and your organization.

Purchase SOLIDWORKS with Annual Maintenance (PSC)

Purchasing a SOLIDWORKS license is still an option, but it is no longer the most cost-effective way to acquire the software. For example, for SOLIDWORKS Standard :

  • Purchase price: €6,300 (excluding tax)
  • Annual maintenance contract: €1,824 (excluding tax) per year (€152 per month, excluding tax)
  • Note: A two-year maintenance plan is now required at the time of purchase
  • Total cost over 2 years: €9,948 (excluding tax)

SOLIDWORKS annual subscription (YSC): recommended

The annual subscription is now the most widely used and flexible acquisition method. With no commitment beyond the subscription period, it provides access to all updates and the latest AI features.

  • SOLIDWORKS Standard with an annual subscription: €290 (excl. tax) per month, billed annually
  • Immediate access to SOLIDWORKS 2026 and the AI assistants LEO, AURA, and MARIE
  • Updates included; no separate maintenance fees
  • Multi-seat licenses: access via user account, on any device

SOLIDWORKS quarterly subscription (QSC)

The quarterly subscription is ideal for managing peak workloads or one-time assignments at your engineering firm. Monthly billing, with no long-term commitment.

  • SOLIDWORKS Standard on a quarterly subscription basis: €348 (excl. tax) per month, billed monthly
  • Perfect for freelancers, seasonal engineering firms, or fixed-term projects
  • Can be combined with annual subscriptions for greater flexibility

What is the difference between a SOLIDWORKS subscription and a license rental?

The SOLIDWORKS Rental (QLC or YLC) applies to legacy on-premises licenses. This is a financing option similar to a lease-to-own or long-term lease, with a commitment period of 24, 36, or 60 months.

TheSOLIDWORKS subscription (QSC or YSC) is available only on the new versions of 3DEXPERIENCE. It requires no commitment beyond the subscription period and automatically includes all updates, AI features, and access to native cloud PDM.

As of July 1, 2023, the YSC or QSC subscription is the most cost-effective way to get SOLIDWORKS. Buying is no longer the cheapest option, and renting is gradually shifting toward a no-commitment subscription model.

How do I migrate from a SOLIDWORKS perpetual license to a subscription?

Are you still using a SOLIDWORKS perpetual license with or without active maintenance? Dassault Systèmes now offers a direct migration to a subscription model: without having to pay off any unused maintenance years.

  • Direct migration to SOLIDWORKS 2026, regardless of when you last renewed your subscription
